****ed up 360 controller battery packs

Looks like I'll be looking for a few packs then. I've numbered mine 1-3 to see which has the highest rate of drain. I swear I have only one troublesome pack.
 
My PC one is screwed... it charges after a short time then lasts about an hour or two before it gives me the warning flashes... highly annoying. It was fine for a month too... I just didn't get around to getting it replaced as defective...
 
If your 360 is still under its first year of warranty give XBOX support a call and they will send you a free replacement pack.
 
Put one of the dead battery packs in the quick charger thing and apparently it was fully charged in under 10 minutes :p

Is that the chargers fault or the battery?
 
Most likely the battery. These things are probably getting the 'memory effect' that various rechargeable batteries get, as I understand it these packs just have two AA cells in them iirc?

I know for a fact that one of my packs in my quick charge dock charges up very quickly. In say 30mins and I'm not sure if it is the very same pack that is lasting me a short length of time. It most probably is.
 
A joypad i have actually claims the battery pack is fully charged as soon as you plug the USB cable in. Swap the battery pack to a different joypad and it charges as normal. So it's not always the battery packs fault :o
 
They're just NiMH batteries.

What's probably happened is the quick charge kit has overcharged the battery and then permanently damaged it, more times than I can remember I'd come back to my charging controller with a scorching hot battery.

Quick Charge kit seems to work better.
