Anyone looking forward to this?

Couple in the woods terrorised by gang of teens. The poster makes it like like that wimpy French Film 'Them'. At least this one's 18 rated and British - so there should be some nasty gore on show. :)

I listened to Mark Kermode's Radio 5 review of this today, and it sounds thoroughly disturbing...which is a good thing as these are the only kind of films that get my juices flowing.

Watched it last night, my mates Gf was crying her eyes out all the way through, what a tense film I felt like killing some chavs after it :/

It was a very well done usual style of how unlucky can we make this couple.

watched this last night with the mrs, the cinema was empty!!! obviously not a widespread film.

a read about it in the paper from the trailer it looks like a decent proper horror, then i read it was about some weena kids chasing a couple (well boo ******* hoo)

in the end a thought a was a well harsh film and as said, all a felt throughout the film was sheer anger, and wanting to kill that brett kid.

quite shocking moments in the film such as burning the little kid, and the stabbing bit.

A felt the end blatantly let down the film, god no's who was at the test screening but why it wasn't the usual ending of she kills them all is beyond me, yes hes trying to be "out there" not having that type of ending but the director has shot himself in the foot!!! you don't let the audience build up hatred for the main protaganist in the film, of that degree then not follow through on it.

obvious references to britains knife culture at the moment blah blah.

overall 6/10 woulda got an 8 but the crapness of the end was a massive let down for me personally.

Well atleast everyone reading this thread won't have to be disappointed in the ending...

Hardly nit-picking, you spoilt the ending for anyone that might have wanted to watch it.

I kinda guessed that the ending was a bit of a downer, so don't mind EasyG's spoiler so much. And even those that do get to see the film without knowing.. They'll no doubt dislike the ending too :)

We all like to see justice done (and I don't mean jail) if you guys want to see some nasty paypack scenes then check out Death Sentence or Storm Warning. Kim Basenger's recent movie While She Was Out seems to be in a similar vein to Eden Lake too, Basenger being hunted by four thugs she ****** off earlier on in the movie - I'm not recommending it though as it only made me sit up once & take notice ;)[/B]

Loved the film and yes no justice.... it was not your usual typical film where every baddie dies... which is good its suitable and felt sorta real at the same time.

*Spoiler*

I just hope theres a 2nd part where she escapes the bathroom, and we get a Eden Lake Revenge 2, parents and 12 year old boys lying dead, no more Mrs Nice Teacher ;)

HARSH movie. Just watched it and it was...disturbing. I was willing pain on all those pikies and it stirred up a lot of emotional anger in me LOL, and the end was also imo spot on. You really felt for the characters (didn't hurt that the lead female was incredibly hot).

Great film imo as it really packed a punch and was far more shocking than many more gory slasher type films, primarily I think because it rang more true.

Makes me want to go out on a masked crusade against thugs and chavs.

Disturbing. Brutal. Tense.

Have not watched a film that has raised so much anger and my heartbeat for a long time.

Ending was spot on. What makes the film even more disturbing is the fact it's realistic. This sort of thing is well within the capabilities of some teenage gangs out there.

I liked it, but fell short of loving it - as I had hoped to.

The problem for me was the protagonists, especially the male. Both of them were such spineless arses I really couldn't identify with them too much, and thus the film just smacked of needless class-ism (which I know really wasn't the point). The husband really made no attempt to legitimately reason or explain with the hoods, and he had ample opportunity - it was never taken away from him. Perhaps if it had, we would have had a MUCH more effective and horrifying movie - though I think the filmmakers had it that way so as not to seem like they were demonising hoodies as unthinking animals.

Still, an effective shocker with an intense ending but it does leave a bad taste in the mouth with its unfair portrayal of "Nothern scum".

Reason? Explain? With the hoods?! Lol, that would be unrealistic mate, as you can't do such things without being spat on, shouted at or stabbed/shot/bricked.

A few critics slated it for similar reasons but I don't understand. It's not about class. They could quite easily have had the chavs replaced with public school kids but it wouldn't be a realistic portrayal of what it's like in reality.
