edexcel c3

OYep, I skipped 5a and B.
What did you get for that dy/dx question expressed in terms of X
I got
3/4x-18 which I thought was odd, other than question 5 it was fine, but a bit harder than normal
Will probably be 65 raw for 90 ums imo.
Also first question was like 6/ two terms which again I thought might be wrong.

the dx/dy question threw me, I couldn't get it terms of y at all. It was something like dx/dy = 1/sec^2(2y) then cos^2(2y). You were supposed to use the original equation y=2tan(2x) and rearrange it so x=something(y)? then put that into cos^2(2y)? I just couldn't rearrange it properly.

I wont be getting 90UMS, more like 60-70.

I just did
Dx/dy = 6sec2 3y
Then
1/9= tan2 3y
Then found in terms of sec using tan sec identity.
I need 67 average in c3 and 4 for an A. I think I will probably get 85 ums in that exam.
It was a hard paper due to that trig, jan 2007 was just as hard and it was really low grade boundaries.
What did you get for Q1?

I hope the grade boundaries are low, I am only going for a B though for uni. If I can get 70ums that takes a lot of pressure off c4. I only had 2 months to do c3 and c4 so it has been a rush to learn it all.

Q1, I honestly cannot remember the numbers but it was in the form of (a+bx)/(cx+d)(ex-f)

Good luck as well, how do you revise by the way? I use the exam solutions videos then do past papers with his videos to explain questions I get stuck on.

I just do past papers, that's it. I do all of edexcel and a couple of Solomon press.
There's like 14 papers, if you do all of them then you will be fine.
3 past papers a day and that's enough.

I had this, couldn't do the cosec question, did the rest though, so should be able to get around 70-75 UMS.

Had chemistry yesterday, got biology tomorrow.

Stupid exam boards, why put hard subjects next to each other and then have a 4 day gap between subjects like psychology and business studies!
