Hi,

I'm looking for some decent speakers just to play some low sound music and rarely loud music/gaming.

I have a philips fidelio x1 and a AKG 120 USB condenser mic and want to know if the edifers will do the job (Edifier R1600T). I would also like to know what the best way is to play with VoIP and my mic on teamspeak and voip related stuff.

I have a creative soundblaster Z and am unsure if the edifers have the right connections to even connect to my soundcard.

I have a pair in the livingroom and they are very good. They are still very clear and have ample bass at low volumes. Your soundcard is fine, the edifier's just use a standard 3.5mm connector.

I have the Edifiers and was using a Soundblaster Z until I bought the STX. The speakers do sound very good once they've loosened up though they do need to be at least 5" from the wall due to the rear port. Soundwise they don't have the low down punch I hear in my DT990's or the X1s in your case but they do sound clear and well balanced.
The Soundblaster Z has separate sockets for headphones and speakers so you can leave both plugged in and just switch them in the card's control panel.

That's not what I said, I said "low down punch" and that's only going to come from speakers with big drivers, either a sub-woofer or something like the Micro Labs 6c or 7c. The amount of bass from the edifiers is enough for me and the music I like but if you're a basshead then look elsewhere.

Hmm

I love my bass and although I wouldnt call my self a basshead ... with speakers its what I want.

I don't know might just get the eddies as they are cheap anyway, how long do you think theyll stay at50?

Until Wednesday. OcUK have new 'this week only' deals every Wednesday. Even £54 is cheap, as they sold for £78 at one point. If you're after bass, I'd consider the Microlab Solo 6c.
