Edifier R1600Ts

Oh that's ashame I had some good choices in mind :p For under £50 there aren't many options and most likely the sub will only have an input, so you'll have to set up the way I mentioned. Checkout the Vibe optisound TV6D

Edifier 1600 / 530 hybrid

Bam,

I've posted about this before, but i'm running 2 passive Edifier 1600's (from 2 pairs). Then connecting them into the bass unit of an Edifier 530D.

So if you can imagine the s530 above, the replacing the included speakers with Edifier 1600T's, this is the hybrid setup I have. Sound better then stock 1600's alone and fixes the issues you mention above.

the S530 is obsolete and the S530D is so expensive I think you would be better off purchasing an active sub woofer and partnering them with the R1600T's

CAMBRIDGE AUDIOS90 would cost much less than a set of S530D and two pairs of R1600T to get the Passive ones.

These speakers (R1600T)are an excellent starting point for speakers they Aren't the best they won't match HIFI monitor type speakers and an AMP but they will certainly look the part in most office and bedroom set ups.

They are also EOL so once I run out they will be no more which is quite concerning as I still haven't found a price point alternative. Edifier don't seem to produce enough of the speakers I want that or the Licensed supplier in the UK is rubbish. :/

Those look good too, seems they have taken it up a notch but I expect the prices will probably rise as a result.

Yes definitely I can't tell you how much the price of the R1600T has come down over the years but adding remotes toslink nfc will always force a price hike. One of the Key selling points for the R1600T II no frills no messing just simple effective hardware.

Just look at the H50 from microlab, only 4W RMS more per channel than the R1600T but NFC so they are instantly 20 more expensive. Superb speakers all the same but I am and will continue to try and stock a Studio series speaker from Edifier and ofcourse I'll try and get as good price as I can.

it would certainly be a shame to waste the reputation they currently have but if they've hiked the prices too far then even a great rep won't sell boxes.

Trust me TwsT you're not the only one annoyed imagine consumers in UK trying to get hold of Edifier studio speakers :p Not many retailers at all selling this range of speakers. Also is there any difference between the mentioned R1600T III and Studio 1280T except a remote?

The slightly bigger R1900T II seem to have been replaced by the R1900T III which are also nowhere to be found!

The CA S90 is a good recommendation, one I gave some months ago to someone who was pleased with the result! Unfortunately they are also EOL now but fortunately there are other options available for under £200.

I don't know I still don't understand the 1900T' II's and why they vanished. I've reached breaking point and just asked how many I would have to buy to get an order brought in just for me.

I know they sell I know they are worth having and if he doesn't give me an answer soon I will just go straight to edifier and ask them directly/complain about their distribution network in the EU.

Speakers/headphones seem to be a right pain purchasing wise, after the other thread I bounced a few questions off purchasing where I work in regard to Sennheiser stuff and seems to be a minefield of preferred suppliers and not upsetting certain retailers and stuff :|

Slightly out of my price range unfortunately :(

I find they 'can' sound okay with bass heavy music, Trance/House etc, but you need to fiddle with the bass frequencies a lot, which is a faff. I'll have to look around for something cheap and cheerful on a certain online market :)

Yes pretty much we are finally direct with sennheiser but weren't for a long time.

I purchased a pair of these last Christmas and would like another for a new build, but they have disappeared from the store :(

there are lots of versions issues are with distributors in the UK.

I can buy them from germany but they have the wrong plugs.

I am trying to see if I can buy direct but I think their demands will be too much.
