Edinburgh - What to See and Do?

Rosslyn Chapel is popular as it's in the De Vinci code. Roslin is a 40 min bus ride from the city centre.

Oh and +1 to what shaank said, Edinburgh's great at any time of year but august is best... the whole city is buzzing and there's so much to see and do (much of it free) every single night in the festival

Only problem with that time of year is the cost of a guest room somewhere, Most bang it up to something like £200 a night and have 3 night min stay. I had to stay north of the city just to keep the room costs sane. Near Christmas you can get a room in a decent guest house for £60-70 a night.

Christmas is also a wonderful time to visit the city.
