Short version: I received an email from a company I ordered goods from informing me that one item is on backorder. 2 days after receiving the email I accidentally opened it again and it had been edited and now no longer reflects any item on backorder. The email is exactly as it was originally with the exception of dashes where the item was listed.

How is that possible?

When I first read the email this line caught my attention: "IF NO ITEMS ARE LISTED above, you can DISREGARD THIS EMAIL." I recall thinking why send the email if no items are listed? In any event there was an item listed and now it's just dashes.

I'm at a loss to explain this.

They may have recalled the original email, and replaced it - it's a feature within Outlook. Though if you opened it, I would expect the recall to fail.

Just my 2p

Right, but that feature in outlook only works within the same domain. You can't recall an email that has been sent to a different domain.

My mistake, I had heard that it had been added to 365 - had a quick nosey, and you're dead right.
