Educate me on ASIC quality

It's like someone telling you there's an unimportant issue with something you're buying.

Well now it is a relevant issue in your mind.

That japanese capacitor which is graded as below average for the batch is now going to be the reason you reject it :eek:

i agree kind of wish they didnt display it

my 2 980 Ti's are 76.3 and 71.6 if i had lower it would probably stick in my mind

My ASIC really bothers me.
My 780's were excellent clockers. One was 78 and one was 83.
I struggle to get my titans stable over 1440MHz, they're 65 and 59 and I just feel a bit short changed compared to other titan owners. There is a bit of "entitlement" here but after spending so much I expected more. I really enjoy benching but I can't compete. I also realise that 440MHz over a standard titan x isn't to be sniffed at.
A lot of titan x's seem to be in the 60's, anyone know why?

I must one of the lucky ones my Titan x ASIC is 77
 
Basically it measures the electrical leakage of the chip, the higher the leakage (lower ASIC) the more volts you have to put in to get the desired running voltage. At stock it makes no difference, when overclocking it means the lower the ASIC the faster you will hit the limit on the power you can put in (this is ofc independent of the silicon lottery so your chip may reach it's overclocking limit before the card reaches it's power limit anyway, if that makes sense).
 
at stock it makes a difference since the cards over clock them self.
higher asic = higher the boost will take your card
manually ocing it makes less of a difference
