Yeah I spotted that a few posts up. I have two RavPower devices; 1 that was replaced due to premature failure. Never had an issue but I am questioning that, now!Just seen Amazon has pulled RavPower, after Aukey all looking a but dubious.
But unless you know of a GB alternative then sometimes it's necessary to source an alternative and where that's necessary I'd rather have a known brand rather than something that could be a fire hazard.
You aren't boycotting then are you? How daft.
You are promoting 'buy British', not boycotting.Yes because not only have I not bought a USB charger since the start of the pandemic, I've also looked at alternatives when I've needed other things. Some things are only made in China so there is currently not always a choice but where I can divert my spending I do. I didn't close UK businesses, people buying cheap tat from China did.
I would be absolutely staggered if there was a single USB charger manufactured in the UK.
I've used Anker over the years and they've been solid, reliable, well made. Get my bike too.
Belkin is overpriced, without the quality the quality to match the price tag imo.
I'd be very surprised too since I was very surprised when looking at something as simple as travel mugs, every well known brand I came across was made in China.

Strange that porcelain cups are made in a China.
Maybe they should rename them so as not to confuse people.
Chinaware might be a good name. Could even shorten it a bit.
Are you a daily mail reader? It feels like you are. They weren't porcelain, they were travel mugs like thermos etc. The same is probably true for porcelain too though since many of our pottery businesses don't exist either.

The potteries in Stoke are booming. Nowhere near where they were, but booming nonetheless.
I've never heard of these chargers before.
I remember the days when ya just plugged in the USB cable and it charged.

If it is over incentivised reviews they are gonna have to pull pretty much everything - I've rarely received a product lately which didn't do it.

My Rav power pd powerbank has been flawless for years.
And I regularly rag it.
It. Kicks out 30w over PD and works well with my laptop. It's been awesome
And yes. Gan chargers are nice. My 100w is GaN
Been a few fakes I think - I bought 3-4 of the same RavPower USB charger from Amazon as the seller and have worked fine for me so far but last time I bought was around 30% people rating them 1 star for premature failure, often due to the case separating making them dangerous, with the pictures some posting having several differences to the ones I had.
Yeah RavPower has been decent for me but the way some brands are getting kicked off Amazon makes me think there is more to the story - maybe Amazon has to make a stand I dunno but there are other brands more high profile who've been doing the stuff RavPower, etc. have been accused of for much longer and are still on Amazon.
Back then 5v 1.2A is all that was needed to charge but that was a slow affair even though phone batteries were what 1500mAh max? Nowadays we have up to 200Watts being pumped into phones with 4000mAh+ batteries (latest announcement from Xiaomi) which charges to full in 8 minutes with the general slew of phones charging at around the 45W mark in up to an hour for fast charging. I only have an S20 but that charges at 25W wired and a bit over 15W wireless. Ironically Samsung call 25W "Super Fast"...
Once solid state batteries are the norm though we will see batteries that charge in less time than it takes to make a cup of tea. In those times the whole charger arena will change dramatically too since you won't need to constantly keep phones plugged in overnight or worry about fast charging methods slowly killing cells degrading battery life over periods of time.
For anybody interested I got this for £19..99 on Prime Day, it does what it says on the tin - https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07QPVSVCW/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
