Is anyone on EE fibre broadband?

I have my phone with EE 4G and they called me offering me home broadband. They say it will be the same speed as I get with BT Infinity (75mb). I read there is traffic shaping, but after speaking to a manager he assured me that it's only for the London area, is this true? I download a lot from newsgroups and don't want to find my speed is limited.

They also told me I will still have Wifi hotspots the same as BT and that I can still get BT sport the same as I do now on my Sky TV.

I'm not sure I believe all this so thought I'd check here. They are sending me the paperwork through with all the details and I have plenty of time to change my mind.

The Wifi wouldn't be a show stopper, the BT sport I only use for MotoGP, maybe I could find an alternative place to watch this. The traffic shaping would be a show stopper for sure.

If anyone has any experience it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Personally I wouldn't touch EE for Broadband, but that's just my opinion after dealing with them. I'm not sure they offer BT Sport though, so I'd check up on that...

He's lying. It's nationwide.

Also have you seen how expensive it gets after the honeymoon period? its pretty darn expensive as in a lot more then bt!!

I get a discount as I have a mobile contract, 75mb fibre for £16 (£6 for first 3 months) then line rental at £11 when paid a year up front.

Though I believe BT just dropped their fibre to £20. I'm not sure that changing is a good idea at all, especially if they have fed me bs.

BT could drop their fibre to paying me a fiver a month and I still wouldn't take it

What's wrong with BT? My service has been bullet proof for the last 2 years. For a while I did consider going back to VM to get 152mb, luckily I quickly came to my senses.

Just called BT, my Broadband is now £19 a month and I paid 1 years line rental up front.

you all do realise that EE will be under the BT group of companies soon anyway once the merger goes ahead. I'd say stick with what you have unless they are offering a massive discount. If it was me I'd be running to plusnet for the best deal anyway and you still get the sport with them, atleast with plusnet you would get UK support.

As for traffic management they all do it BT/Orange/Plusnet not sure about how Talk Talk manage theirs. I'm with sky and throughput seems to be at max all of the time.

+1 for Plusnet. I don't even compare prices, I'll just pay them whatever for the customer service. Just upgraded to fiber with them today, going live 20th.
