EE or Three?

I've decided I'm going to leave GiffGaff as I have grown tired of my data signal constantly dropping out or down to very low speeds. I had heard EE was the best so I was thinking of going with them. However having skimmed a couple of threads on here I see people complaining about EE and saying Three is much better. Is that so? :)
 
Depends where you live, you need to find out what is best for you. I found 3 data speeds great when I had a signal, but poor signal where I live so no use to me.
 
I'm leaving EE for Three, I can't even get H+ with EE just H :(. With Three I can get full 4G

Leeds. According to the coverage map Three looks pretty good. I will probably go with them as people at work have said they get good service there.
 
Three are terrible, the networks looked after be Ericsson who we once paid 30k to build an MSC and then binned the lot lot was so bad.
 
While not where you are I am on Orange/EE in London and the data speeds are appalling. I get full 3G signal but it takes a minute to load up a simple web page or google maps. Many a time I've tried, given up and got the GF, who is on O2 to look things up and it would load instantly. This is throughout London so i assume connections are saturated or something. I'm now going to move to Three ASAP and see what they are like...

That's not my experience and I guess it would be useful if you said what your current provider is. South the signal is fine and 3g good enough to stream netflix. A couple of times the wife and I have gone to Cornwall and both times I had to allow her to tether to my account as her vodaphone 3g signal just wasn'r usable.

EE though I think is better but i'd only go for them if I could get it at the same or cheaper than three
 
Been with Three for the past couple of months and not had any issues. Was with Tesco prior to that that which was also good :)
 
Been with Three for over 3 years & can't fault them.

Signal is generally good, I've had a few dodgy areas when away on holiday (very remote areas to be fair) but on the whole not had any problems.

On past experience with myself & a couple of friends I wouldn't touch EE (Orange) with a bargepole. But that is just my personal opinion.
 
It's not worth asking here, you'll mainly get moaners about either network from completely different parts of the country, and your signal can vary from one end of a room to another - and can be affected by time of day and weather.
 
Leeds? I remember a few years back Orange being a bit rubbish. Vodafone seem generally alright but not exactly fastest speeds etc. Never tried Three but I have friends on Three who say it's okay but they struggle for signal inside some buildings.
 
Over the past week I've been trying PAYG sims from O2/Giffgaff, EE and Three. I am moving from Vodafone. I live in Porthcawl South Wales and Park Gate just outside Southampton.

I've been testing coverage and data speeds at and around these two places and all along the route in between.

As always, any network may work for the places you personally go but my findings are:

Vodafone = crap
O2(Giffgaff)=crap

EE and 3 both great with 3 having better speed overall but EE having more 4G availability.

At the moment I'm thinking of staying PAYG with 3. The only drawback I can see there is lack of tethering. The pull of unlimited data is very strong. 300mins, 3000 txts and all you can eat data for £15 is great IMHO. I always buy devices outright so contract/device tie ins are no issue.

That's exactly the point I was making with my post. Just because you appear to get good signal doesn't mean you get good speeds. Unfortunately it's a case of try and see if it works. Not great if you want to go on a longer term contract...

Same here (although was with vodafone before). First week was a bit rubbish but after that I can't complain, £12.90 is a huge improvement over paying £25 a month and signal is sooo much better in London.
 
Another vote for Three. I moved from GiffGaff which was fine signal wise, however whenever I left work between 5-6pm, even with full 3G signal, it refused to load any data. As soon as I left the area it was fine, just seemed to die at work at those times!

I have no issues with Three :)
