EE Upgrade feom s3 to m8 problem

Hi.
I've just upgraded my s3 for an M8 in store. They said that my new phone should be ready to use straight away. However I can't make or receive calls on my new phone as yet. Is this normal after upgrading.?

Put your EE sim in the new phone and it will reg on its own within 24hrs, your old phone and sim will work and carry over that period.

Did you go from orange to EE?

Yes. The person in the shop put the SIM card in. Funny thing is. I've just dialled my phone number and it calls my old phone. But it says it's from a private number.
I have gone from tmobile to EE

yeah pretty normal mate I used to over see hundreds of registrations, my own personal upgrade I had both phone working at the same time for 3 days lol. Turn the EE one off till the morning should be fine on reboot

I upgraded from orange to EE and so did the Mrs. We were both carrying 2 phones around for a day or two

also switch it on and off a few times a day
