eee small problem

Well my brother went on my eee pc today and it came up with...

Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt:
\Windows\System32\Config\system

You can attempt to repair this file by starting windows setup using the original setup cd rom.
Select 'r' at the first screen to start repair.

I guess i need an external cd drive now??

if i do could someone please reccomend me a cheap one please

is there a way i can load the disk onto my external drive then plug it in to the eee pc and load the files that way??

atm all its letting me do is enter the setup and bios screen.

your best off with a reinstall m8, the repair facility with that error doesnt work ***

only had it 2 weeks, do you think i could send it back to them and ask them to either replace it or repair it as i feel angry about having to pay for an external cd/dvd drive when i havnt even done anything.
