Yep - seen many builds using PCIe ribbons - someone recently did one with an HTPC (can't remember his name though...) and I've got a pic here of a wall-mounted PC using a ribbon for the GPU

I thought those ribbon cables didn't work for PCIE due to the additional latency... guess it's not a problem! I'm surprised it hasn't been done before, especially with previous pushes into making cases with separated heat-zones. Looking forward to seeing more details of this case...
Probably not a huge issue for compute useage as the link in the first post, might be a bit more of a problem for gaming tho.
I think that looks horrible lol. It would look so much better if he hid the cables behind the metal and if he powder coated the metal black.
