Eero announces a Wifi 7 tri band router

I have the pro 6 (3 pack) it's a great piece ok kit, had eero for nearly 2 years, been flawless. Simple interface/settings, but thats what I like.

Can't afford these new wifi 7 ones though, may consider in the future if prices drop considerably, and when I have devices that make use of wifi7
I've got the standard pro in a 3 pack and they're brilliant.

Been rock solid since I've installed them and get 300mbps throughout the house.

Don't have a need for these, although having more ethernet ports would be a massive advantage.

Those channel widths make me cry. Be interested to see default settings… we only get 500MHz in the UK in both 5GHz and 6GHz. In a domestic setting more than 40MHz channels usually causes issues, especially in new build developments :(

With it having a ZigBee controller built in does that mean I could do with the hue bridge?

I'd need to build the WiFi is better than the BT home hub at getting through walls. My home hub is not able to work where I want it next to my switch and nas. But if I wanted to make user of the 2.5+gbe it's need to go there to connect to my nas and pc.

I thought it was going to release this week, thanks for telling us @robj20. The app got updated 4 days ago to support it so seemed likely.

Some of the Black Friday prices are going to be very interesting. The 2nd Gen Eero Pro 3 pack is £120 right now. £40 for a tri band router is just nuts (also people saying it's the best Eero they made). I wonder if we'll see sub £200 for the Eero Pro 6 3 pack (that's been as low as £240).

Do be aware that the future of the 6GHz spectrum is not decided, and it won’t be decided until the World Radiocommunication Conference in Dubai which runs from the 20th November to the 15th December and the availability of the top half of the 6GHz spectrum is going to be officially allocated then. The two big contenders are 5G mobile phone operators led by Vodafone/Telefonica and the WiFi Alliance who have it in their heads to use it for WiFi7.

Only the USA has come out solidly for 6GHz for WiFi, all other nations have theoretically agreed to abide with the decision of the WRC. So those Eero Wifi7 routers are fine in the USA but could just be expensive WiFi6E units for the rest of the world. I would sit tight until the new year, at which point we’ll know officially if we’ll get better 5G or better WiFi. Either way, I reckon it will be a win for home users.

I'll definitely hold out until we know more about WiFi 7. Though I think my Pixel 8 Pro matches up with this router so that at least would work.
I would actually prefer a separate router and WiFi but getting a suitable router that has some 2.5gbe+ ports isn't easy, nor one that can handle 1gb+ routing.
