Eggheads

One thing that has always bugged me about the Eggheads on that show is how they give their answers, instead of saying 'The answer is X', they always start by giving full and frank reasons as to why the other 2 possible answers displayed are not correct completely dragging out the answer and the show.

Oh and I cant stand camp cornrow CJ de Mooi and that scrumpy drinking, cousin marrying, pasty eating ten gallon twit Chris Hughes. :mad:
 
Its not so much that they cheat, they just get stupidly easy questions to answer, with the host going "thats just the way the questions come".

I think it was last week, the challengers had knocked all of them out bar one, they were level pegging with him until the second to last question which turned out to be something that only say, 1 in a 10 million people would know, meanwhile he got the equivalent of "what is 2+2".
Its a farce.

Totally right, why oh why do they have to fill you in on the last 10 years of their lives. Just say the damn answer. They are obviously told to give a reason each time but it's very annoying. You could do he show in 5 mins if you cut out all the guff.
 
It would be better if they got rid of the current format and moved to a format that asked more questions...
 
Watched it for the first time in years while I was on holiday in the UK last week, nothing seems to have changed.

I'm not sure if any of them have weak subjects or they just try to pretend that they do. I'm sure if they are that smart then they would study their 'poor' subjects a lot more and so would no longer be a weak subject for them.

Hardly. It's a case of you being incompetent and not knowing how to write simple English. I'm never going to pick you up on spelling of a reasonably difficult word...

By simple I mean the difference between their/there/they're

That a ? = New sentence

It's stuff you were taught in year 2

i dont proof read, and i type quick, sorry im not like you, doesnt mean im incompetent, does it make you that angry that you have to have a dig at someone like that ? it could have done without the sly remark, then i wouldnt of cared what so ever, i see people using slang on these forums daily, no one bats a eyelid, so grow up.

go through my 3300 posts and make the same remark on all the spelling and grammer mistakes if you want, it will put your posts up by another 3300 :D, like i said i wouldnt of cared if you just corrected, but the way in which you corrected me was nasty.

Have you guys seen those memory books by Harry Lorayne and Dominic O'Brien?

They most likely use some of those memory techniques and just skim through loads of random facts commiting them to memory in a few seconds.

I wouldn't say that. They just remember information and troll through books etc all day long, anybody with half a brain can do it if they put a hell of a lot of time into it. Not saying it's easy but they ain't some of the most intelligent people in the UK. If they were that intelligent they wouldn't be sat doing quizzes all day.
 
Mega-bump!

Three of the challengers on Eggheads at the moment taught me at school (Aldro, Shackleford)! Weird seeing old teachers now.

Nick taught me history.
David taught me chemistry.
Malcolm taught me PE and Maths.

all when I was 8-13 years old.

Can't say that either side gets the easier questions tbh, not sure where you guys are coming from with that.

Watch it most nights, it's the 'one thats on' when i get home from work.

Personaly i like the challenge, general knowledge is kinda my thing, it's a good show in a simple format.
 
Don't discount experience either. I love quiz machines as you can often find a way to win. New comers often woo at my supposed brain but it's more to do with experience than anything.
 
If you watch Eggheads long enough... you'll know the secret!!..

Aim for the Middle answer and 9 times out of 10 you'll be correct!!.. :p
