EGR Valve Cleaning

I was under the impression that 10k Boost can be sprayed into the air intake with the engine running.

Whereas carb cleaner could only be used with the engine off? and carb in hand as to speak.

Feel free to correct me

you use 10k boost with the engine running
its something like 1min with the engine at 2-2500 rpm then let it tick over for 5mins and keep repeating this until the cans empty

Carb cleaner is gonna be way more effective shifting carbon in an EGR system though and you will know what the condition was like.
