True, and mose people dont list the well known competitiors anymore just the unsuspecting ones
 
I have to admit - shamefully - that I'm guilty of this. In my defence, however, it's easier to remember that certain PC stores or websites are competitors, but when typing a reply, I often forget that supermarkets now sell consoles and are therefore off limits too.

Hope you realise that in some cases it's not intentional, it's just that I'm a retard ;)
 
Do not talk about any shops in the gaming forum where you can buy consoles. Simple as that.

I dont see how people can forget that supermarkets sell consoles, as thats what people are posting about. Buying consoles in supermarkets.

Its a shame we cant talk about them anymore, as it did help to guide people in the direction of stock or bargains, but alas it is no more and is pretty easy to avoid with only a little common sense.

Because a few of the big ones are names that are used a lot in general discussion about games, and obviously it would look rather stupid in some people's posts.

You couldn't be more wrong. Firstly, the FAQ doesn't state who is and who isn't a competitor so those people who don't know what OcUK sell are breaking the rule too easily. Secondly, the competitor rule itself is too strict and is killing a small part of the forum. I'm all for protecting your own interests/business.....I won't go on because Yewen knows my feelings on this.
