Eid Mubarak 2024

It is strange how religions main celebrations such as Christmas, Eid, Diwali etc revolve around stuffing your face :D
It's almost like the expression of spirituality is something intrinsically human, something the now essentially secular west should have considered before throwing the baby out with the bathwater. Even Richard Dawkins is starting to realise that.

Happy whatever day to anyone on their subscribed religion/culture's day of choice. On a subjective level, meaning is meaning, the particular flavour is irrelevant.

I think it's all quite wonderful having all these traditions and so on. I'm not particularly religious, but visiting the temples here in SE Asia is very interesting and provides an interesting insight on the local cultures and people's ways from different parts of the world.

I found some of the temples and religious sites very calming and interesting.

It's through our differences that we will thrive as a race. You can integrate and still have your own beliefs and cultures.

Anyway this is off topic. The Eid parties were in full swing last night here. Fireworks and music , absolutely wonderful!
