Eid Mubarak

Ive done winter fasts, they seem a doddle compared to the 18.5 hour ones weve had this time round. Aside from tiredness towards the end of the day, i cant say the food and drink aspect has bothered me much, but the lack of sleep has hit hard this last week, esp having a 4 and 3 year old!

Takkabul Allahu minna wa minkum (May Allaah accept (this worship) from us and from you)

Enjoy it fellas, make dua for the fallen brothers and sisters this month as well as your families and the ummah.
Love, peace and blessings

Happy Eid!

Totally forgot about people coping with fasting during this week's crazy temperatures. Must have been brutal, frankly!

On Friday, my wee nipper brought home a bag of sweets from school with Happy Eid written on them. One of the parents had brought them in for all the children. It was such a nice touch!

Is this a celebration that marks the end of Ramadan?

Yes it is. Indeed that is a nice touch.

Unfortunately I've gone in work. 5hr shift :(

Sorry that the weather turned cool again just after you were able to drink iced lemonade in the afternoon once more! :/ But Happy Eid regardless! :)

Islamic dates move back by 11 days a year, so will be a while before it is in Winter
Is based on there worship of the moon god (sin) from the Sumerian precursor to all Abrahamic religions. Hence the crescents significance.

And the the saying cast out sin.

Or so I have read.

No. Muslims use a lunar calendar (same as the Jews) rather than the solar calendar we use today in the west.

Be interested to know where you've read that.
