just a couple of pictures of some new toys :)

EK 8800 GTX block & Alphacool Laing DDC-Pump 12V Ultra

flushing my rad and storm block with a vinegar solution for a good 6-8hrs as i haven't used them in ages then we'll see how this block + new pump performs, not to mention my nice 27B 6600.

not that it affects performance but the EK block really is a stunning block, by all accounts performance is a lot nicer than the DD block too.

it wasn't cheap, in fact the price is ridiculous....almost double the current 7800 price.

but like you i was just in need to get it sorted.

I will be interested to know if you can push the core higher under water.

Just wished they had used the same spacing as per the 7800/7900.

here's a couple of pics, GTX at stock.

will do some clocking when i get some time.

Let me know how the Alphacool Laing DDC-Pump 12V Ultra runs as im after one myself. :)

so far it's a brilliant little pump, absolutely quiet ....the water gushing through the GTX block makes more noise than the pump.

had a aquaxtreme 50z previously which was ok for performance but a little on the noisy side.

Just happened to come over this at xs :p

So how much did it put you back? I'll most likely buy one for myself, but I'm sure you paid a ridiculously amount of money for it :D

Sorry, I don't want to derail your thread, but I just have to ask... I already have an mcw60 and 8 of those mc14 copper sinks. Would it be silly of me not to buy the new mounting system for G80 and 8 more ram sinks, rather than buying a spanking new EK full cover block? I could probably sell the MCW60 for a decent price though...

new toys are expensive, always been the same way.

if i had a mcw60 i'd most likely get the adapter, as i had a maze4 i decided on the EK.

Go post on the G80 Club thread with benchmarks/pics etc

You could put the link in your sig you know, would save the effort of posting it. :)

I wonder if ocuk would stock the EK block.......
