Oh, then that is a different story.
Backplates might be compatible across the brand.
But you might have to purchase additional screws to screw the backplate into the block, but the screw holes should line up if both the blocks and the EK are compatible for the card.
FYI you can definitely get EK full cover blocks for the 780. I am using one right now and they are by far the best block for cooling VRMs and the other circuitry.

, really need to know this as ive a custom designed parvum case coming in a few weeks, have tried to find a EK se full model but due to E.O.L cant get one anywhere.

im thinking that i may need longer screws but im trying to find out if this is def possible first, but how longer or if its stock screws im not sure off, i dont want a gtx 980 , which would be the best way out , but im trying to hang off until the next gen comes out. Im sure EK Luc will put it right for me.

You're looking at the SE model because you want a plexi block that will cover the whole card.
Sadly since it's EOL, the only way to find one is from used sales.

yes i know, but as i cant find one at the moment will the EK backplate for the gtx 780 ref model fit on the back of the card if i use a bitspower gtx780 water block.
That's a good question! Unfortunately I don't know for sure. But since you've seen it on the other build I would assume that it's possible.
i think he is using m3 x 6 screws, i just want a full waterblock, cant believe there is hardly any up for grabs, its not like the gtx 780 is dead just yet, it still does the job, just a shame you have E.O.L the block i wanted, means ordering from the states.
I found a quite a few EK blocks, new and 2nd hand via google. Even OcUK gets the occasional B-grade block for cheap.
Or are you looking for a very specific variant?
i want the titan se full block in clear for the gtx 780.

I had an idea that involved a full 770 plexi block and a 780 nickel block and swapping the metal blocks around therefore ending up with a 780 nickel plexi block and a 770 block. This was assuming that EK uses the same shape for their plexi thingies (not sure what the call the plexi bit) which would make sense with economies of scale and such.
It's crazy but it might just work
Most of the holes will line up as they are made to line up with the holes on the card. The issue will be screw length, I had a watercool heatkiller backplate fitted to an EK block on my GTX670 and had to use different screws as the ones supplied with the backplate were the wrong length.
