EK D5 PWM (No rpm)

Hi guys,

I'm looking for some help. I have just built a new system with an EK D5 PWM pump, all is well and I'm controlling the fan speed via Speedfan from the CPU header except I can't get an RPM reading at all. Has anyone else experienced this?

Motherboard is Gigabyte Sniper G1 m3

Try a different 4 pin header and also check the fan settings in BIOS as the profile might need to be changed.

Is it plugged in directly or through an extension. I had a dodgy extension and had the same problem. Just a thought.

I have tried 2 different headers and a separate fan controller (all 4 pin)... still no rpm reading. Bios wise I have tried various settings, the odd thing is if I plug a pwm fan in I get a reading straight away.

I tried it plugged in directly, still no joy.

My guess is that it's faulty and I have emailed EK (no response as yet) I just wondered if I was missing something silly.... Thanks for the suggestions though.

is the cable all the way in the plug? try just pushing it abit further into the plug

Good idea... I'll have a look later.

Does anyone know if you can take a reading with a multimeter on the tach signal and if so what should it be?
