Hey,
Just a quick one..
have switched to ek-dcp 4.0 pwm and pump is running on full blast all the time..
when am trying to connect it to mobo, to cpu fan connector and use pwm, it just wont start at all...
any ideas ??

Thanks!!

Its quite possible your motherboard CPU header cant provide enough Watts on its own to power the pump as its rated at 18w.

Dont you plug the molex to the psu aswell as the PWM cable to the mobo if you want variable speed with these anyways?

it is powered by molex.
when plugged in to pwn for cpu fan, it just doesn't start at all....

Using one myself powered by the molex and the PWM Fan Connector is plugged into the CPU Fan Header, if not the pump just goes at full speed.

As you have a Asus mobo use Asus Suite Fan expert as this gives you better options for PWM control using it myself.

From your manual > CPU Fan Profile**[Standard]Sets to [Standard] to make the CPU fan automatically adjust depending on the CPU temperature.** this should give you PWM function.

Read Monitor menu Chapter 3.6
CPU Q-Fan Control [Enabled]: BIOS setup/3-26
[Disabled]Disables the CPU Q-Fan control feature.
[Enabled]Enables the CPU Q-Fan control feature.

CPU Fan Speed Low Limit [600 RPM]This item appears only when you enable the CPU Q-Fan Control
feature and allows you to disable or set the CPU fan warning speed.
Configuration options: [Ignore] [200 RPM] [300 RPM] [400 RPM] [500 RPM] [600RPM]

CPU Fan Profile [Standard]This item appears only when you enable theCPU Q-Fan Control
feature and allowsyou to set the appropriate performance level of the CPU fan.
**[Standard]Sets to [Standard] to make the CPU fan automatically adjust depending onthe CPU temperature.**
[Silent]Sets to [Silent] to minimize the fan speed for quiet CPU fan operation.
[Turbo]Sets to [Turbo] to achieve maximum CPU fan speed.
[Manual]Sets to [Manual] to assign detailed fan speed control parameters

Solved.

it was working when connected to MOBO, but it is so quiet on slow revs, that I couldnt hear it ;D

I was only relying on my hearing rather then touch it if it vibrates as well :)

Thanks all
I can work in quiet now :)
