I am planning an 800D loop and I am stuck deciding weather to get an EK Multioption 250 advanced or basic. I will be using the bottom two ports so is there any reason I should get the advanced?

Also I plan to run my fans at 1000rpm so would I be at any disadvantage other than price by going for the Gentle typhoons 1850rpm and running them through my fan controller so I have the extra performance for benching than going for the 1400rpm versions?

Cheers

If you know what ports you are going to be using and don't need the amount on the multi option over the basic I don't see the point of spending the extra. Though if you get the basic and ever find you need the multioption let me know I have a couple of the ends lying around.

Same really for the fans, there will be the extra cost and loose such high rpm performance but you shouldn't see any performance difference between the two at 1000rpm. Something to consider though is how much performance you will gain with the extra 400rpm at the top end.

I have just noticed that the advanced version comes with an anti-cyclone insert. I intend to use the bottom two ports. Will not having the insert an issue? Are cyclones common in these reservoirs?

Cheers

I got a cyclone at the bottom of the basic 150. This ony happened when the D5 pump was at maximum. It was fine at medium settings. I would get the advanced as the more ports you have, the better expandibility you have

I have just noticed that the basic doesn't have 1 of the ports I need so I will get the advanced anyway. Cheers :)
