Not for me, for the Mrs, she gets cold, she's working from home 4 days a week.

Given the price of heating oil we are going to try to be reserved with the heating figured its probably way more efficient to heat her not the room/rest of the house.

I guess ideally 230v plug in, USB power isn't a deal breaker but definitely nothing that has a battery. I know you could just get an electric blanket and wrap it around but keep in mind shes working at a desk, and needs to do video calls somewhat regularly.

Any ideas/suggestions?

infrared heater/panel is not an option in close proximity in office space
e: isn't that the answer in your parallel thread too

Yeah, we use a combo of electric throw (can sit on it if she wants to be more subtle on a call) and for the really cold days an electric fan heater (since it's cheaper to heat the small office room electrically than the entire house with gas).

I try to buy Dreamland where I can, after they repaired a several years old electric blanket for nothing even with no receipt.

Also bought a couple of electrically heated bits of clothing on Temu and they were utter trash, totally not worth bothering with.

Cheers guys, looks like an electric throw then.

I'm surprised there isn't anything more specifically designed for home workers, a throw is ok, I guess.

Wife finds electric throw over her legs does the job, but she does also use the fan heater or the little electric oil filled radiator we have to make use of the solar and take the general chill off the room.

My other half uses a 250w infrared heater panel under her desk, it fires heat at her legs then the heat runs under the top of her desk onto her body.

Seems to get on well with it tbh. A heated throw will be a lot cheaper however.

Mrs Bob uses a heated throw from Lakeland and just drops it behind when in meetings. It looks like she has a sheepskin chair :D

Wife and I both work from home, during the winter day time hours we keep the house at a steady 17oC and use 240v heat mats to top up.

You don't really need anything heated because a Snuggie, also known as a wearable blanket will do the job fine. We both have one and they saved us a fortune in heating last year and we even bought a couple of neighbours them for Christmas and they loved them. You can get a decent one on Amazon for £20-25. These are the ones we have, double thickness and the cats love them so we get extra lap time!!

You could look at the motorcycle world and the various heated jackets. They tend to have both wired and battery powered solutions for each product. For example I have a Macna heated jacket that plugs into my bike power, but it can also take their rechargeable batteries. And I know you don't want batteries so it might help that they also have an adapter that ends in a cig lighter plug. Get a 12v mains adapter with cig lighter socket that can handle the amps and you're sorted.

Tempted to try it myself tbh!

Just wear a slanket. We just throw caution to the wind and turn the central heating on set at 22C
