electric shavers - which one & return polices?

It's generally believed that once you've found a brand you like it's best to stick with that brand - especially true if switching from foil to rotary. Reason being that your face will 'adapt' to the type of shaver and you'll not get such good results if you switch (though this effect will decrease over time).

I've never wet shaved (don't trust myself), but I know that it's unlikely you'll ever find an electric that's as good as a proper wet shave. Neck area is particularly problematic - none of my phillips shavers have ever done particularly well there.

As for sonic, well, I thought that was just toothbrushes. What do I know eh?

Returning non-faulty goods will be at the shop's discretion. I suspect a lot of places will refuse solely on health and safety grounds.

My brother has gone through 4/5 electric shavers in his time (he's 24 now) and apart from the couple of times I've tried his electric, I've always wet shaved.

I'd never do anything else. Straight out of the shower and a full wet shave with a Mach 3 really is "the best a man can get" - I only need to shave every other day. Electric shavers irritate my skin, always miss a hair or two and require an everyday shave.

Plus, they're much more expensive - £100-200 plus blade refils (£20 a pop iirc). I can deal with shaving gel and blades every couple of months.

So in reply to the OP:
But my problem occurs with the hair on my neck left over - it just wont cut them off, and in the end i just get a swore neck from going over it again and again.

That's electric razer's for you, unfortunately.
