Just wondering if many people use these, if they're worth buying and can recommend one?
I've seen some out there that cost loads of money but don't want to waste my money if they're no good or if the cheaper ones are just as good.

I'll post a nice clean teeth smiley :D

Well my dentist told me they were a waste of money, and that flossing every day was the best thing I could do. Make of that what you will!

We have one and I think it's much better than a normal manual toothbrush. I can't remember the name of it and my sister's in the bathroom so i'll find out later. I think it's one of those expensive ones but we got it for half price in a sale

You share a toothbrush?

On a funny note, anyone remember this? :D

I think there was a thread about six months or a year ago and the general consensus was that Sonicares to better than a normal toothbrush. If you do a search you may find it, there are loads of links to research papers proving their advantages.

I use one and my dentist still says I should floss every day, but TBH it's easier to go to the hygienist every few months.

Electric toothbrushes don't do away with the need to floss. They're for cleaning the tooth surface. As long as you brush properly you don't need an electric. I only got one because i got carried away with hotukdeals a while back. A few of my uni mates are dentists now and all say that you don't need one if you brush properly (teeth, gums and tongue) for a couple of minutes twice a day and floss at least once a day, preferably twice, change your brush regularly, clean all those "hard to reach" places, have regular checkups and don't abuse your teeth regularly with sugary or acidic drinks.

They also tell me that most patients of theirs don't floss or brush their gums properly (leads to gingivitis - gum inflammation).
Yes, we have some very interesting conversations :p
