Here's a seemingly simple question! My bedside table has an inbuilt lamp which is switched on/off by a 20mm rocker switch. The thing broke apart recently and need to source a new one. Took the old one off and am struggling to find an equivalent on the net!

On one side it's got 12A 125/250VAC and on the other 12(4)A 250V.

Most of the mains rocker switchs I can see are rated at 10A? Would that be safe to use??

Thanks!

Assuming you have a "normal" bulb, then yes, 10A is more than sufficient. For reference, at 230v a 10A switch will allow you to have a 2.3kW bulb, slightly more than a typical 40w or 60w!!
