Hey,

Me and my Girl friend have been living together in our flat for the last 8 months, really really nice and almost finally finished decorating e.t.c.

One problem tho which is really getting to me. Seems whenever the Tumble Dryer is on -Girl friend wanted one  the power trips out.
It can be going for 15minutes or an hour until it trips out. /What she tells me

Now, I think its down to she normally has something else plugged in, such as an Iron or the kettle and it goes off.

Trouble is its getting to me as I leave my server on 24/7 and sometimes has happened to me playing BF2142

What do I need to sort this, a bigger fuse box?

Interim (if you have loads of spare cash) - get a UPS :D

Proper fix - Breaker ratings too low/bad wiring/dodgy appliance as you said?

You need an electrician because your circuit is either being overloaded or is faulty. Either way you need a electrician to investigate and solve the problem.

also get a UPS so your PC doesn't cut out when the power goes.

I had a similar problem with a washer/dryer last year. Turned out that the cable tie on one of the internal cable bundles had worn through the insulation on a couple of internal wires and the vibration on certain parts of the cycle when the drum was spinning could cause these breaks to touch and cause a short. The caused the circuit to immediately trip at the fuse box.

Ten minutes with some insulation tape and the problem hasn't re-occurred since.
