I brought a new power shower and decided to start playing around with the old one a 2am last night in the dark .........don't ask .......then my God I got one hell of a shock ,up my left arm then down my right complete with fireworks !

I think if the current goes from one arm to the other it bypasses the heart ,luckily I had rubber slippers on as the shower tray was wet !

Any way I fitted the new one today which has a low voltage supply but my old one was high voltage and the electrics are in a little plastic box along with the inflow water pipes inside the shower cubicle, this seems really dangerous if one of those pipes leaked whist you were in the shower you would not stand a chance !

Yeah I know I was an idiot before anyone tells me ;)

Anyone that goes poking about in an electric shower whilst standing in a wet shower tray without shutting the power off deserves all they get TBQFH.

damn your lucky to be alive, when you say you were playing around with your old one what exactly were you doing with it!? Pointing the shower head towards the power source??

btw if you were electrocuted you would be dead ;)

Yeah electrocution is death by electric shock.. if you were electrocuted then your communicating from the other side.

I take it the fuse blew on the power shower.. I still say your mad and still wanna know exactly what crazy stuff you did with it!

You had a very lucky escape, there's a good chance you could have ended up the guy who's pictures I saw on
**** not long back! Let's just say it was the police who found him a few days later, still lying on the bathroom floor!

If I were you, I'd spend a tenner on Saturday's Lottery draw!

ORLY?

Not that it really matters, but why do you think that?

Well it matters because if it goes through your heart you have more chance of dying .
If the shock goes in one arm across your shoulders and grounds through the other arm your ok ,if it goes in one arm then grounds through your feet it goes through your heart then you not ok :D

Ok well I'm not dead ;) but reckon I woke the neighbours up with my very loud yell of pain :D
I was messing with the copper water pipes and had the light off in the room so I could see the light coming from the next room where the pipes came from and cupped the area touching the live feed without thinking !

Anyway my new shower is great pumping out 18 litres a minute :)

I think he was asking why it going from arm to arm, with your heart sort of in between the two t would by pass it?

False, I received an electric shock from a direct mains feed (bare wires hanging from a wall) when i was about 8 or so, survived without a scratch.

The word Electrocuted doesnt always mean death in everyday language, dont be such a muppet you knew what he meant. :P

Yeah I think your right ....its late ;)

I believe its because it takes the shortest route to ground which is across your shoulders ,think it was covered when I did a first aid course ,yep I know all about health and safety :D

I assume from this that you weren't aware that to be electrocuted means to be killed by electricity ;)

Don't forget, it's not the voltage that kills you but the current! A house mains current is way more than capable of frying you in your own juices.

Yes thats what it says in the dictonary, however you know as well as i do that its common place to use the word to describe getting a shock of electric and surviving and to say otherwise is just being petty and picking holes :P
