eletric window problem

I have a golf vr6 and the window has stoped working i have taken all the door of and the wire is connected put a volt meter to it and there is no electric going to it and the fuse has not gone beacuse the other window is fine.

any ideas?

At a guess a break in the wires when they enter the door.

Ask on a VW forum.

Has the window dropped into the frame? The window regulator is very very prone to failure on the Mk4 Golf, IIRC the regulator repair kits are about £25 and not too hard to fit. The clips attaching the regulator to the window tend to break.

EDIT > Sorry I just re-read and if you have taken off the panels then it would have been obvious if it was the regulator that had broken.

I read in the CSMA magazine over the weekend (my father is a member) that Golfs have a problem with the windows and VW have extended the warrenty on the windows to 7 years. Try giving VW a shout.
