Eleven table tennis

I have just enough room in my garden office to play beat saber. Haven't tried table tennis but i use room in the lounge and still occasionally hit things.

So due to all the sales and now far more concurrent users, they've released the beta early to try and reduce the strain on the servers. Huge number of updates from what i can see, including 90fps for quest 2. Can't wait to try it now.

The update seems pretty solid to me.

Great game. I've not played in IRL but getting really into it. Thinking about getting a paddle :D

Picked this up today and had a play in single player mode to get used to it a bit.

Really enjoyed it, some of the hits feel odd but hopefully it keeps improving.

One thing I would like all games to do is copy Alyx and make the controllers buzz when you make contact with things. It makes a huge difference to things feeling solid in Alyx when you hit a wall or object with your gun.

Most/some games do. Suspect that’s a beta bug if 11 does not. Paddle and ball supposed to vibrate, but I think not the table, by design.

Got this yesterday. Seems pretty good to me. Disappointed to find it a Cyber bundle with a few other games I'd have liked. But nevermind.

Took about 10 mins to get used to it but now I'm getting spin on things and getting some smashes in. Sometimes it completely misses the ball when I try to put too much power on it. Not sure it it is me or the game.

This may seem like an odd thing to say, but make sure you're looking at the ball. I've found that when I smash, I tend to still be mostly looking forwards and using peripheral vision. The issue then is the paddle is actually behind me, and thus likely not in view of the cameras at all.

Just had a few games online and was pleased to see that people are equally as bad haha! If the connection isn’t perfect it is a little jarring though. Thought I had won a point for the ball the come back a split second later.

Is it with getting the beta? Really think 90hz will make a difference on this.

Yeah, I knew the 90hz update from Oculus had landed. So therefore I took the future tense of simo's comment to mean that the devs of Eleven will need to do something to enable 90hz in game.

Yeah as far as I’m aware the devs need to implement it. But honestly I’ve no idea the status re betas etc that Ravenger mentioned!

90hz should already be supported:

The big key notes are:
  1. 90fps natively supported (quest2)
  2. new environment (Arena)
  3. natively supported paddle adapters. https://drive.google.com/file/d/10SBxOOjIuMbgHon2T3E9o0hWEZ9hApc6/view?usp=sharing
  4. ai avatar options (different oculus avatars, and different masks) https://drive.google.com/file/d/1HZoZUOn_j29wQAhseyL6Nk0r4NlVZKD1/view?usp=sharing
  5. updated shot clock system
  6. practice wall mini game
  7. a lot of multiple connectivity fixes
  8. a bunch of UI updates
  9. language updates (professionally translated this time)
  10. lighting updates (chalet is darker)
  11. AI target mode for free hit
  12. game logic fixes
  13. room setup fixes.
  14. tv ball shot info in many modes

Oh cool. I swear I remember setting my Oculus to run at 90hz in the settings. But I can not find the settings any more. Maybe I've drempt it. Googling it seems to suggest it will run at 90 by default since the update. Is this right?

maybe
I've not been in vr for a while, but there IS a setting, not sure if its PCVR (link) or ALL

Out of interest, because I'm worried I'll get spanked if I dip a toe into multiplayer, how are people doing against the AI? I can beat medium consistently, but struggling to get more than 5-6 points against hard.

Dive into multiplayer. I'm not doing games against ai but judging from roughly what I'm doing in free play is be similar. It's ranked and people are friendly. Not many talkers but I'm having fun regardless.
