Elise S2 - Is HGF still an issue?

Update : The Elise 111S I was due to test drive on Saturday has now sold.

I think I'll just buy a Mondeo instead, far easier :)

What is the usual asking price for the 111S ?

I'm looking for an 04 plate onwards so probably around £20k

Although I've seen a lovely green 111R for a fraction more so I might go see that

Yeah, I'm in no real hurry so I'll just wait to find the right one.

I've seen Nick Whale adverts on Pistonheads, some of their cars look pretty good so I might go view them once the 2 is gone.

Have you got a link to the ad?

Have you considered an Exige?

There's a list of their cars on the Pistonheads Classifieds (mixed in with the other Elises) or on their website

I'm not really looking at the Exige, I like the soft top option and don't want to spend the extre £2k on getting the Exige converted (which is what the Lotus dealer quoted me last weekend)

Sorry, I meant the ad for your 2. :)

Doh! sorry :)

It's not advertised. I had somebody approach me through the owners club asking if I'd sell it. He offered me a pretty decent price so I said I'd sell it to him. He's coming next Saturday to pick it up so unless he changes his mind then it'll be sold soon.

but the idea of an Elise has opened my eyes to the fact that maybe I don't need that sort of power,

blah, blah, blah

and I'm sure you could get other mods done at the same time if it did go (gotta look on the bright side of these things)

Not need that sort of power?? You believe what you like, but we know the truth ;)

5 minutes after you buy an Elise you'll be posting...

"K Series Turbo conversion?"

It's too late for you, power has taken your soul.. mwaaaahaaaaahaaaaa :D

Maybe I'm just going soft in my old age.

Since getting the CTR I've found that it has enough power to be fun without worrying about my licence or ending up in a ditch.

The MR2 is only fun for short bursts cos you easily find yourself doing some crazy speeds which require skills far higher than mine to handle. I'm thinking that something like an Elise would be more usable on the road.

Who knows though? I might test drive the 111S and find that it's not quick enough and then that leaves either the 111R or the VX220 turbo :D

Gotta agree with that dude :D

I'm switching to a Rev3 soon & making 290atw my first stop (Chargecooler, Apexi PFC and Cams) then onto 320 (400fly) next year with forged internals & bigger turbo :)

Also brake, suspension & ARB mods of course ;)
