Elite Controller: worth it or a rip off

Paid £104 for mine and think it's a great controller if you want to spoil yourself but not really essential, I only use 2 of the 4 paddles as for me that's enough to deal with.

The best feature for me is the ability to remap the controls so whatever game I play the buttons and triggers etc can be set the way I like them, especially if you are swapping between games and can use the 2 different profiles stored.
 
I paid 80 quid at launch and I love it. I get all multi platform games on the xbone note just because of the controller. You have to use all the paddles though.
 
Overpriced IMHO.

But I do want one. I play a lot of Smite and every control scheme option is in some way hampered by a lack of buttons. It gets frustrating at times.

The paddles are not extra buttons, they are just mapped to existing buttons I believe, I have one but have not used the paddles and only used it on my PC.
 
My only issue with the controller so far is that in destiny, when on the sparrow you will need to turn off hair triggers if you want the speed of the sparrow otherwise it just pootles along.

Annoying unless there is a way to set the triggers so that even if it's on the hair trigger, when pulled fully it still registers as a full pull.
 
I have one of these in my basket. Don't know if I should press the buy button.
I would mostly like it for increased control in driving games and FPS - don't have room for a wheel ... well I have room for one just nowhere to put one... would this be worth it?
 
I've got one and don't think you'll get much out of it for driving games and FPSs. It's an excellent controller for fighting games but for everything else it's a bit hmmm... Having said that it's a quality controller that I don't regret buying.
 
Hmm that's about the one genre of game I don't play. Mainly because I got annoyed with crappy d-pads :D
 
Then you'll like the D pad on the Elite controller. It's a very precise, clicky pad. Also you get levers (for want of a better word) that sit where your pinky and ring fingers natural fall on the controller. These replace the ABXY buttons and are extremely response and fast to use.
