The temps spike when docked your gpu gets a hammering at that point outside its not to gpu intensive.

But I was docking and launching just fine for an hour, but could only see the one temp spike.

I might put the GFX down to minimum again to carry on playing it until Windows 10 is officially released and newer drivers are installed.

where is it crashing? is it just normal game play? or jumping to hyperspace?

At random times. Sometimes just flying through space, sometimes in dock and a couple of times in hyperspace.

I can actually still hear the game and if I adjust controls I can hear the engine increase, decrease etc. the screen just freezes.
