They're selling through Steam now? That's great news. Should mean a load of new players in the galaxy.
I play at 3440x1440 and a single TITAN X laps it up with all but supersampling enabled. Incredible looking

780 Lightning running at 1080p with everything* maxed and it's fine.
*Supersampling at 1 only.
I watched a Titan X owner bump the supersampling up and even that started to struggle and glitch, so hell knows what you need to max the SS out and remain stable...
But.... but.... it's there, so surely we MUST max it out!!You don't need SS in Elite

I have to say I'm loving it so far as it reminds me of my favourite games of all time...the Wing Commander Series...
Fantastic memories and it's been a long time since we've had a decent space fighting sim...I'm also an early backer of Star Citizen but that is taking ages to come out and I don't have the time to invest in each mini-release...
So for the next few months, Elite Dangerous is going to be my weekend and evening entertainment...
Give it a go, it's on Steam now...
And yes, I have to wait to see what the r9 390X brings to the table, although I'm mostly an Nvidia user...I'm open minded about my graphics card...I did swear though that I wouldn't buy another graphics card until they move off 28nm dies though...so might be waiting a while
I had an issue with my 980 at 1080.
It would crash (black screen and a Direct3D error) when in Hyperspace. This started after 1.203 patch.
I opened a ticket with Frontier with my findings and they said it would be worked on.
Basically my factory clocked Inno3d needed to be under clocked to 1200 MHz for it to be stable (still stable and has not crashed since)
This, it seems, has fixed it a good number of 970 and 980 users.
