im trading mine at a well known store and they are going to transfer all my data over in shop, prob take about half hour they say?, so ill go for a coffee while its being done. Also told me Elite price had dropped to 300 quid

Quick question - With the Elite can you use the HDMI port for Video and the other A/V port for Audio like you can on the PS3?

Yes, you get a special adapter which has L-R stereo RCA phono connectors and an optical connector.

Damn you all!!!!!! You're making me seriously consider this.
I have a 360 bought a month or two ago for £200 with COD3 (one of the clearance line 360's from the highstreet) which I cold now trade in (without COD3) for £140...... then get the Elite with Bioshock and Blue Dragon for £330.......

In terms of cold hard cash I will then have gone from a bargain premium 360 at £200 to an Elite with an extra 2 new games for an extra £190......

I can't honestly say that it is worth it. The Elite will give me nothing over what I already have that I will actually use or benefit from, Bioshock and Blue Dragon are nice but I did tell myself not to buy anymore games until I have finished Hitman, Oblivion, TDU, Just Cause and a couple of others on my shelf. By the time I have finished that lot Blue Dragon and Bioshock will be "2 for £40" or less.

So the logic and the cash say that this is a really stupid idea and just a waste of £190 to have a black 360. The gadgety nerdiness of me wants to do it though. I blame you all. I'm going to try to resist. Then there is this niggle at the back of my mind saying "you know that you'll never get such a good trade in price again...."

£330 - £80 (Bioshock and Blue Dragon which I had on preorder anyway) - £140 (Trade in: Actually selling to bro-in-law) - £10 (VGA cable I don't need any more) = £100 (let's call it £99.99).

Gives me HDMI and much larger hard drive and the knowledge of the 2nd heatsink and fan.

Also...

It's new, and shiny, and black and precious, I want it!

Bigger hard drive = more episodes of Viva pinata for you little one to enjoy.

Less likely to see said little ones finger prints on it because its black...(I'm already stretching at this point)

*edit* Bigger hard drive has a ridiculous RRP if bought separately.

hehe, I have a friend buying my premium for £180.

On Friday I will pop into town and buy the Elite with Bioshock. Then sell Bioshock to another friend for £30. Then go home. Enjoy placing my black Elite above my black Denon amp. Plugging the HMDI into my amp and playing Bioshock with a black controller. Hearing the sounds of little sisters crying through my black 5.1 speakers. Then typing on my BLACK keyboard to you all about how I am enjoying it.

Just me that got a little to happy with that thought? meh

I have never seen such BIGOTRY and RACISM in the consoles forum, disgusting.

Seriously though. To top it off I will buy a black play and charge kit. Then I will have some mixed race hardware going on. White controller, black controller, white & black play and charge kits. I will swap em all around and take dirty pictures of it.

I can see where this is going, the white console leads the way but then gets flooded out of its homes by a wave of black immigrant bits of hardware

Within a few years there'll be no white hardware left, it'll all be black or silver or grey

White hardware innovates then gets drowned out by black versions.

As for you and your filthy mixed colour play and charge kit stuff !!!!!! Disgraceful. You do realise it is a crime to charge a black battery with a white play and charge kit right!

Black was here first. Then Apple came along with its "hip" and started shenanigans. Black will always be the best colour for electronics. It makes displays stand out and LEDs to glow brighter. Yeh thats right. LEDs get some sort of extra power from the black slickness and emit even brighter. It's not scientifically proved, but it's still a fact.
