Email accounts and ISP ?

Alright guys a simple question, Can i keep my email address if i change isp ?

for example [email protected] and if i change to BT can i keep my freeserve email ?

I still have my takl21 account from yonks ago.

That's why I never use an email account that's linked to the ISP. Major pain in the bum if you ever want to change provider. With good free webmail services like GMail, there isn't really any reason to!

I could never leave AOL as my Dad was worried he would lose his email, I think AOL let you keep your email now however.

This is why it is worth buying a domain and then forwarding that to whatever email account you want to use. Should your ISP stop using the email address when you change, or should you just want to use a different provider you can simply point the domain at the different provider.
