Email clients....

so... what email clients are going around in 2014.

i was using thunderbird, but its not playing nice lately, so i thought id check what else people are using.

i dont get how people do this... so you constantly keep checking your mail all day? screw that, id rather it just pop up in my notification tray when i have a mail... i use my mail way too much to keep checking it all the time...

Outlook 2013 can't stand using anything else in terms of email clients.

Are they all web based emails?

I have used a few in my time but the simplest and easiest is X-Notifier on Chrome.

Apple Mail, a quick survey suggests that around my colleagues etc it's either that, Outlook or Outlook Web Access (which is surprisingly popular)...Mail's search capabilities make it the obvious choice for me, I just prefer the way it works to Outlook.

To be honest though I do most of my email on my iPad these days.

Thunderbird for IMAP. Outlook 2013 for Exchange. Outlook 2013 for IMAP is terrible (lost messages, cannot detect folder correctly etc.) - Outlook 2010 for IMAP is fine...

Web email for me, it saves faffing about with email clients. One less application installed.

mutt. I can pull in emails from all my accounts both IMAP and POP and blast through them reading, replying and deleting at lightning speed.

Chrome with gmail as an app. That way I get notifications to my desktop.
