Email forwarding - Any way to do it server side?

Hi,
We're in the process of migrating mail to 365, as part of the process users have been instructed to set a rule in OWA that forwards all mail to their new addresses.
Problem is, that for some people, they can set it as [email protected], but then after a while, it re-sets itself to [email protected].

Any ideas why?

And is there some sort of transport rule i can set that will automatically forward for people if i set it? Seeing as the first part of the address 'fred' is in exactly the same format...?

Do it in AD and script it for the relevant containers where users reside. This would be shockingly simple!

Infact you could do it with Excel and the MEMM addon if you are not overly proficient in AD scripting.

Turns out that doing it one by one is actually ideal in my case now ive thought about it, i can monitor who has/hasn't done their migration by which ones i need to forward.
