Hi,

I'm lost as to what to next here. Mate has en emaila ccount he collects at work via his laptop, this works fine. However, he can't send emails using exactly the same settings at home and has said in the past he had to use his isps (orange) smtp server details at home in order to send emails at home. Can anyone shed any light on this? He has a simple router, connecting wirelessly at home.

All I can think of is that orange have some sort of block?

Yes, they'll block traffic on port 25 to limit spam. Assuming that's the port your mate is trying to connect on he'll need to use a different one. Perhaps enable SSL and connect on port 465, depends what the mail server he's trying to use will allow.

I was just about to post about this. I'm using Orange broadband at home.

Can I heller's like get my email working I can send email - error message:

Task 'Ollie's Email - Sending' reported error (0x800CCC80) : 'None of the authentication methods supported by this client are supported by your server.'

Tried calling orange - that was hard work, gave me loads of SMTP addresses: 193.252.22.140, ......134,......138,......139,.....187,....188, and yes ......189.

None of which work!

Please can someone help me before my monitor goes out the window!

Much love!
