Email help!

Sorry to bring up an old thread,

I have bought the domain name, but now in Google Apps it says that i need to verify it by placing a google file in my website but i am not building a website for that domain?

I only want email.

What do i do?

But i don't have any hosting or anything, just the domain? Can i still do that?

I am not going to be having a website for a while yet.

EDIT: Fixed it, i just had to change some DNS. Thanks anyways Robbo.

Ok new problem.

I have set it up on the iPhone and it went fine but now i am getting a pop up message asking for the "Password for the Exchange account". I have tried the same password that i use to login Google Apps but it isn't working?

Anyone had this problem?

Then sign into your clients using the application-specific passwords. Here is a guide on how to set it up - http://support.google.com/accounts/...uide=1056283&page=guide.cs&answer=185833&rd=3

That last bit is where I got confused, I was trying to sign into Thunderbird using the password I set up, but you need generate an application-specific password.

Probably that.

Hi guys.

Bit of a bump.

I am just trying to get a friend setup with an email account like what I did above but I have just seen Google now charge for Google Apps.

He doesn't mind paying but I am just wondering if there is another free alternative way to do it?

I have done some research and would I be right in thinking I just buy the domain he wants on 123reg and then I could use a company like Zoho Mail?

From what I can see it will do what I want, receive emails to said email address and have ability to access emails through Outlook on PC and his iPhone?

Thanks guys.

I'm not sure how Google apps work but I have a Gmail address set up on iPhone as an exchange server using m.google.com

I set my domains up to forward emails to the Gmail address. The only problem is I can't seem to reply from my domain emails without changing to an IMAP setup which then doesn't push the emails.

It works quite well aside the sending issue. Anyone any other suggestions?
