Email Scam

They're getting ever more elaborate. Had this one come in at 14:57 today. :D

Had the same one at my work email address, exactly the same wording and request. Thanks Symantec.cloud for blocking the death threat! :D

Also saw a report today from a customer who had the same thing.

In my example it was from an @bol.com.br address, it looks like that is a user on a free email service from a Brazilian provider.

Ive been getting a lot of spam lately asking me to click to confirm my unsubscribe. What a clever way to confirm if it's a live email address or not. Heh

One of my clients had the text in the OP yesterday but it had his personal password mentioned in the first line.

One of our clients got one of those, except it contained a word in the subject which so happened to be their Windows password. Sure enough, turned out that the user was using the same password in multiple locations and one of those was part of a security breach.

actually, i think if you just hosted the files yourself you could make a ton of money from subscriptions from people who get off on watching other people get off. you could incorporate video reviews a la youtube "reaction" vids :-D

I did play around with remotely activating a MacBook's webcam a number of years ago. It was surprisingly straightforward. Not sure you'd be able to do it with a drive-by attack, though.
