Email Scam

They're getting ever more elaborate. Had this one come in at 14:57 today. :D

The email OP got as been mentioned as a police scam.

Apparently its come from either a guess about you, or an account details had been leaked in the mass leaks that happen. They haven't got a video of you.

The rubber chicken antics are safe! oops lol

E.g. I'd love to reply but my ears where blown off in a cheese making incident in the north of Iceland, I'd provide more details but after the last explosion spreading de brie everywhere I had to sign an NDA #sad_times. Ten thousand pounds seems mighty excessive to spank my monkey could I opt for a pay monthly option or perhaps via stamps (they are very popular here), I have in my possession a morrisons loyalty card amounting to at least £6 which gives you many options such as a 6 pack of sausage rolls.

Lol the email I got only wanted $1000 in bitcoins.

The funny thing was the email subject had one of my passwords from years ago in there. I suppose these scammers target people who have had their emails and passwords released on those hack dumps (subscribe to have I been pwned to find out if you r details are ever contained in those dumps) by sending a scam message to those email addresses along with the password contained in the dump.

It is actually a variation of a very old one...

Back in the day, Scammers would check the Obits column in high end newspapers and send letters to grieving relatives claiming that there were unsettled accounts with "Erotic Bookshops" and offer to settle the matter discretely.

Nothing new to see here, Move along folks...
 
I just had a phone call from Somalia scammer pirates, I presume the scam is they ring you for 3 seconds in the hopes you call them back where they somehow make money from you calling their number ?
