A friend of mine only has internet access through her iphone and there's a video I want to send her. Is this possible? And if so what format does it need to be in?

I've tried googling but the only pages returned relate to the iphone's groundbreaking new video recording ability!

needs to be in a .mov container - probably using h264 codec as afaik thats the only format that iphones will support.

edit - if you need to convert use handbrake (or visualhub) as that has an option for iphone

Just an idea.
You could open a dropbox account for which you both have the sign in details, she puts the dropbox app on her phone, you drop said film into dropbox (providing its iphone compliant as mentioned by feriso) , she syncs her app with the account. Job Done.

As mentioned, surely it'd be easier just to stuff it on youtube. Unless it's...erm...'private'

Get her to download Air video free, set up the server at your end and send her the PIN. You could stream it that way at least.

good idea, it's a great app - just requires pc to be on :) and IIRC got to set the 'searching location' on your pc
