Hi

I have created a VLE for a college which has some embedded Youtube videos. It works great apart from when the video is clicked it may you to the Youtube site.

Now we know that web anonymity often brings out the worst in people and some of the comments on Youtube are particularly offensive, as my faculty manager has discovered.

Is there any way I can prevent such a thing happeneing, whether it prevents a link to the Youtube site or surpresses comments?

I would do this myself but I am unsure about the technical side of it!

Yup, I'm sure it violates their TOS. Only way would be to host video's yourself.
You can stop comments though. You must be logged into youtube then click on the down arrow next to your account name and select My Videos. Then find the video you wish to stop comments on and click on edit. Then it's down there under broadcast and share options. Voilá
