work visa maybe
eb3 unlikely
greencard highly unlikely
We have more chance if we apply so we will and see how it goes.

neocon said:the uk is never on the diversity list anyway because we send over so many people through the other programmes. who told you it would be back on?
we send over loads of doctors, nurses, businessmen, etc every year

If the guy wants to move, which I want to in a few years, then give him advice, not bitch between yourselves on which country is better![]()
mcmad said:It will be almost impossible to get a green card through a US employer from the UK, you cant just apply for a job & get a green card unless you have a unique talent / difficult to find skill (e.g college professor / surgeon etc)
Speaking from experience ..the easiest way is to work for a multinational & apply internally for a vacancy, even then it takes some effort on the employers behalf to arrange everything, they have to show they cant find a US citizen to do the job (this will include nationally advertising the vacancy etc) & have no choice but to bring in someone from outside the US.

I just have to say - its a place you'd either love to live or hate to live.
I so happen to love living there![]()
Cant really offer much advice im afraid but I moved to the states as of this January on a student visa (to be with my g/f) she earns good money and the exchange rate on my savings and everything else has made my bank balance double lol
Since moving there I love it - people are super friendly, the weather is perfect (snow in the winter, sun in the summer) everything is real cheap, loads & loads of stuff do and see, opportunities for everything, selection of choice if beyond belief AND I have been in one traffic jam in 6months!!!!lol
But if you are serious about moving over there I would spend time on where you are going to go and plan plan and plan ahead -these things take ages and is not a quick process.
Good luck to the both of you!! You'll love it
how did you get your american g/f?
