Other half has been offered a Chromebook with a 1080p monitor (not sure what size), keybord, mouse and USB C docking dongle to make working from home more comfortable, also has the option of an office chair and a folding work table.

She's not sure how the Chromebook would make her more comfortable as she's currently using an old i5 Dell Optiplex that has been upgraded to the gills, a 1600x1200 20" screen and 2 1920x1200 24" screens as well as. My office(!!) and chair, while I'm on the Alienware Alpha in the lounge...

Tempted to ask her to get one, and I've not played with a Chromebook in a long time.

Are you talking about besides a work laptop? Or that you're saving time and money by not communing? Granted some of this will be offset by electricity but it doesn't come close.

Lunch is actually cheaper at home....

I ride my bike to work and it takes like 10 mins max. so it'll cost me more in the winter time.
