Hi,

Looking for recommendations for employee monitoring software. I'm looking to monitor a network of 30 people (to much facebook lol) and was wondering what people use out there !

Cheers

Can't help you, but I'd be quite interested in this myself.

If you use OpenDNS servers they offer a (sort of) monitoring solution - though I don't believe it'll go as detailed as what machine went on what website when. It does tell you most requested websites on your network, time spent on those sites etc... It's quite useful :)

It's free to sign up

Depending on your budget, we trialled Barracuda and it was absolutely amazing, but it was more of a traffic filtering solution.

Not sure how expensive it is though :D

thanks for the replies, should have also said needs to be able to log all email, instant chat and keylogger, programmes in use at any given time etc etc

If it is in the IT T&C and the employees are made aware I don't see why not

I'm not sure this is entirely true. You can monitor 'read' emails, but you cannot monitor 'unread' emails, otherwise this is interception before it has reached the recipient, in which case is a breach unless you have powers for covert surveillance under RIPA?

Monitor them in what way? Cant you just use VNC

We use Sophos filter as our proxy server and its got great reporting and policy settings that are easy to setup.

Or do you want to monitor more than internet use?

All email can be logged through exchange, instant chat is disabled in most work places, key logging - im not sure why you would want this. Programs in use can be monitored remotely or can be seen in the process list if using Citrix

Possibly, depends on company policy. Check with HR IMO :) Absolve all responsibility ;)
